Lynn Moris Mccambridge

November 25, 1939 — January 26, 2025

Waitsburg

Lynn Moris McCambridge, 85, was born on November 25, 1939, in LaGrande, OR, and died peacefully at his home in Waitsburg, WA, on January 26, 2025, surrounded by family. Lynn grew up in Walla Walla, WA, and attended Walla Walla High School. Later he studied Structural Engineering at Arizona State University. Lynn lived in Glendale, AZ, and raised his family (first wife Paddy and children Diana, Troy, and Christi) until their divorce in 1981. In 1985 he purchased the Touchet Valley Hardware store in Waitsburg, WA. Lynn longed to return to the Great Northwest to be closer to his mother, Guinevere McCambridge. He brought with him a flock of sheep, two horses, and Twitchie, his faithful border collie.

After three years, he finally convinced Delores (Ann) Stacy to marry him and move to Waitsburg in 1988. One of Lynn and Ann's greatest achievements was finally finishing their dream home, which took them just shy of 25 years to build. Lynn loved being the 'Hardware Man' until he retired in approximately 2003.

During his life, Lynn loved visiting Disneyland, watching old western movies, especially John Wayne, building models, Coca-Cola with barbeque ribs, and his sheep, horses, dogs, and cats.

Lynn is survived by his wife, Ann; daughters, Diana McCambridge and Christi Henderson; stepsons, John and Steven Stacy; half-brother, Dennis McCambridge; and half-sister, Lorraine Hendrickson. He is also survived by seven grandchildren: (Bradley Grende, Audry Deleers, Abby Kleinsasser, lsharrah Lynn Carter, Haley Dschaak, Peter Henderson, and Jesse Henderson) six step-grandchildren: (Dylan Stacy, Annastacia Stacy Durnell, Jonathen Stacy, Michael Stacy, Leon Stacy, and Sierra Stacy) and 10 adorable great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Waitsburg Library through the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home, 315 W Alder St, Walla Walla, WA 99362. Friends and family are invited to sign the online guestbook at www.herringgroseclose.com.
