Lucile Louise Mele, 92, passed away
April 4, 2015, at Regency at The Park.
Lucile was born in Walla Walla on
Sept. 7, 1922, to Louis Claytor and Ruth Jane Isitt.
There were seven siblings. Lucile was born and raised
in Walla Walla, graduating from Walla Walla High
School in 1941. She later married Angelo Mele on
Aug. 5, 1942, in Dayton.
They had three children, Pam Scammon, Susan Partridge
(David), Steve Mele (Sally); eight grandchildren
and 12 great-grandchildren.
Lucile worked in retail most of her life. When at home
she enjoyed gardening, going for walks and spending
time with family.
Lucile was preceded in death by her parents; her husband,
Angelo Mele; one sister and four brothers. She
is survived by one remaining sister, Mildred Logan
— 101 years old — of Anderson, Calif.
There will be a viewing Monday, April 13, 2014, at
Herring Groseclose Funeral Home, from 10 a.m. to 2
p.m. with a private family graveside service to follow
at the Mt. View Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital through the funeral home.
