Louis Anthony Bossini

Lifelong resident Louis Bossini born April 7, 1924 to Carlo Bossini and Rosa Castoldi in Walla Walla, Washington who were former Italian immigrants. His mother died when he was 4 years old. With the help of his three sisters Jenny Locati, Angelica Locati and Josaphine Burg, His dad raised him.
He graduated 8th grade in 1939 at St. Patricks School.

He was very proud to have served in the Army Infantry, 96th Division as an Infantry Scout and Machine Gun Squad. He received a Citation for his Unit, Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Presidential Citation for his unit, Good Conduct Medal, Meritorious Unit Award.
When the war was over, he moved in with his dad and they crop farmed onions, spinach, and other local Produce. A year from the day he left the service, he proposed to the love of his life Georgia Jean Kaup. They were married May 18, 1947 at St. Francis Church in Walla Walla.

The family worked on the farm selling produce to Walla Walla Gardeners. He retired from farming due to his health. Dad and Jean bought the Stone Hut Tavern. His health improved so he went back to farming with his son and they opened Bossini Packing Company. After several years he retired for the last time in 1985. He took up the Hobby of buying and restoring old cars. He joined several old car clubs. He and Jean went on several trips in these old cars. They really enjoyed them. He would drive them in the Fair Parades every year.

He was a hard worker and supported his family. In his younger life when he wasn’t farming, in the winter he worked for Derby Electric. He was a member of several social and religious organizations. He belonged to St. Francis Church, Knights of Columbus, VFW and Elks. He volunteered at St. Vincent De Paul for 12 years. He was a volunteer firefighter for Walla Walla County, District 4.
They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in May of 2007 by going on a trip to the Oregon Mountains.

One of his biggest highlights was going to Washington D.C. with his son Greg on the Honor Flight.
He will be missed by all who have survived him. He is survived by his 5 children Linda Bossini, Greg Bossini, Carl Bossini, Gina Bossini, and David Bossini. His grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his parents, wife Jean Bossini, and three sisters and their spouses.

Viewing and Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 2, 2017 from 1PM until after the Rosary.
A Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at 5:00PM at the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home with Rosalie Locati, S.P., officiating.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, July 3, 2017 at 10:00AM at the St. Francis Catholic Church with Father Matthew Nicks, celebrating. Entombment will follow the services at the Mountain View Cemetery of Walla Walla.
