Lorrain “Lorri” Rizzuti Toye passed away on November 26, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family. Lorri was born on February 25, 1940 in Walla Walla, WA to Daniel and Maria Barbuto Rizzuti. She attended Paine School kindergarten, St. Patrick grade school and Walla Walla High School graduating in 1958. Lorri attended the Sacred Heart School of Nursing in Spokane, WA and graduated from there in 1961.

On September 29, 1962, Lorri was married to the love of her life, Calvin O. Toye of East Braintree, MA in Butzbach, Germany. As an Army officers wife she traveled and lived in many places overseas and in the United States. She was active in her husband’s military life and also worked as a nurse in Frankfurt, Germany, Omaha, Nebraska, Seattle, WA and Walla Walla, WA. After Calvin’s retirement from the U.S. Army in 1978 they settled in Walla Walla. She was a stay at home mom when her children were young, but returned to nursing for 16 years at the Walla Walla Clinic and 10 years at the Adventist Clinic, retiring in 2005. She was active in her children’s school activities, a local bridge group; held offices in the Catholic Daughters of America, Italian Heritage Association, St. Anne’s Alter Society and many St. Francis Catholic Church activities including being an organist and active St. Francis Catholic Church Choir member. Lorri had a real interest in her family’s genealogy and made a trip to Italy in 2003 to meet relatives and similar trips throughout the U.S. and Canada. Company was always welcomed at her home and she loved to organize a gathering of friends. She was devoted to her family, friends and church.

Lorraine is survived by her loving husband Cal, Daughter Autumn (David) McCulloch of Walla Walla; Son Michael (Sonja) Toye and Granddaughter Bianca of Marysville, WA; Brother Edward Rizzuti of Grants Pass, OR and Calvin’s siblings and spouses.
Lorri was preceded in death by her parents, and Step-Father Louie Rizzuti.

The recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at 9:30AM prior to the celebration of the Memorial Mass at 10:00AM with Father David Gaines, Celebrating. Interment will follow services at the Mountain View Cemetery, St. Johns Edition.
