Lorita Ann (Berg) Romero, our loving wife, mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother and great-great-grandmother was born May 13, 1929, in Portland. She died peacefully on April 26, 2016, at the Washington Odd Fellows surrounded by her loving family.
Lorita was a compassionate and loving person. She loved people and animals and always put others first before herself. She enjoyed reading poetry, listening to music, loved flowers and enjoyed her spoiled cats,Flame and Rina. She also enjoyed traveling to the
coast and the mountains.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Anna Berg; her brothers and sisters-in-laws, Maurice and Virginia Berg, and Charles and Ella Berg. She is survived by her loving husband, Fortunato Romero; her daughter and son-in-law, Rinda and Manuel Martinez Sr.; her grandchildren, Manuel and Donna Martinez Jr., René and Jesse Chavollo, Rhonda Sunday, and Thomas and Kim Sunday Jr.; her great-grandchildren, Manuel III and Isaac Martinez, Kaylene Lybbert, Cassandra and Jacob Rickords, Cameron Lybbert, Courtney and Edvin Johnson, Thomas III, Christopher, Eric, and Adam Sunday; and her great-great-granddaughter, Sadie Johnson.
We would like to thank the staffs at Odd Fellows, Hospice and Herring for their loving compassionate care and support during this difficult time.
Viewing and visitation will be held on Friday, May 6, from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 7, at 11 a.m. at the Chapel of the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home with Rev. Robert McCoy officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Walla Walla Community Hospice, or the Walla Walla Senior Center through the funeral home.
