Liselotte Anna Magdelene Stever passed away peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on July 13, 2012, surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Lisa was born on Nov. 28, 1936, in Kassel, Germany to Wilhelm and Dina Loudien. She immigrated to the United States in 1957 to Prosser, Wash., and began working at her family’s jewelry store.
She met and married Bill Stever in 1959 in Pendleton. Bill and Lisa recently celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary. In 1964, Bill and Lisa moved to Walla Walla, where she was a member of the Young Wives Club. Lisa has a zest for life and she loved boating and camping with her family and was an exceptional cook. Later in life, Lisa and Bill vacationed in Hawaii and at Lake Chelan.
Lisa was preceded in death by her two sons, Steven and Ricky; her sisters, Christa of Germany and Emma Wetmore of Yakima; brother, Horst Laudien of Germany.
Lisa has three surviving children, Kelly (Dale) Hutcherson of Walla Walla, Michael (Tara) Stever of Prineville, Ore., Martha (Ken) Kildall of Seattle. She leaves behind her grandchildren, Joshua, Matthew, Chance, Tasha, Justin, Austin, Cara and Casey; and three great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her dog “Angel.”
A celebration of Lisa’s life will be held on Friday, July 20, at 2 p.m. at the family home at 1618 Melrose St. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Blue Mountain Humane Society through Herring Funeral Home.
