Linda was born in Omaha, NE on May 18, 1941. Her family moved to Walla Walla, WA in 1947. She attended school at St. Patrick Catholic School and graduated in1959. She then attended Eastern Washington University where she met her first husband, Kenneth E. Emry. They were married on 2/16/1963. They raised their 4 children in Wenatchee WA.
She lost her first husband in 1981 due to illness; she continued to raise her children in Wenatchee. In 1989, she went back to Walla Walla for a high school reunion and re-connected with James E. Schuster. They were married on 6/23/1990 joining two families together with 8 children; Sheila Schuster Proefrock (Dean), April Emry Lane (Dennis), Lisa Schuster Shelley, AJ Schuster (Darla), Mark Emry (Diana), Christina Emry Sparks, Melissa Emry, and Matthew Schuster (Susan). The family continued to grow with 12 grandchildren; Brandy Proefrock Pettit (John), Josh Shelley, Nathan Shelley, Jennifer Proefrock, Hayden Lane, Katherine Sparks, Kenneth Emry, Kylie Schuster, Olivia Lane, Kendra Emry, Mattison Lane and Haley Emry.
She is survived by 2 sisters; Virginia Trout (Cliff), Juliann Moeller (Richard), 1 brother William Pancake (Janie), Jerry Schuster, brother in law; Lona Schuster, sister in law and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Julia Pancake; first husband, Kenneth E. Emry; niece, Terri Moeller; mother-in-law, Catherine Schuster; brother-in-law, Frank Schuster; sister-in-law, Jackie Pancake, and nephew, William D Pancake.
Linda was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who put family first above all else. She loved to travel and get together with family and friends for card playing and celebrations. She will be remembered for her wonderful smile, laughter, and “Bull Roar.”
In lieu of flowers, those who wish, may make memorial contributions to Walla Walla Community Hospice, Providence St. Mary Regional Cancer Center through the Herring Funeral Home, 315 W. Alder, Walla Walla, WA.
A family memorial service will be held on Friday, January 3, 2014 at Herring Groseclose Funeral Home followed by a celebration of Linda’s life at St. Francis Parish Hall, 722 W. Alder at 1:00 pm.
