Leroy Elmer Lusk

Leroy E. Lusk passed away at Washington Odd Fellows on March 9, 2017. A memorial service will be held Friday, March 31 at 10 a.m. in the chapel at Herring Groseclose Funeral Home, 315 W. Alder, Walla Walla.

Leroy was born in Lowden, to James “Elmer” Lusk and Asenath “Crissie” Fouste Lusk. He was a 1937 graduate of Walla Walla High School. On February 15, 1941, Leroy married Ruth Clibon in Lewiston, Idaho. They made Walla Walla their home. They were married for 56 years until Ruth passed away in February 1997.

During WWII, Leroy was in the Army. He served in the South Pacific Theater. After the war, he worked as an auto mechanic. He mainly worked for Coyle Oldsmobile for 33 years, retiring in 1984. Leroy enjoyed playing penocle and gardening.

He is survived by his daughter, Judy (Michael) in Walla Walla; son, Ronald (Elizabeth) in Fort Worth, Texas; three granddaughters, five great-grandsons. Leroy was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth; his parents; his brother, John; and baby brother who was still born.
