Leonard Charles Isaacs was born on March 22, 1935, to Charles and Mary Isaacs in Portland, Oregon. He attended schools in Portland and graduated from Franklin High School. He joined the US Navy and served as a submariner. Serving eight years, two years of active duty followed by six years as a Navy reserve. After his active duty service, he attended OSC studying Business. The first person Len met while registering for classes was Shirley Schofield. Dating throughout college, Len and Shirley married on March 21, 1959. They were married for 66 years until Shirley’s death in 2025. Len held several sales and marketing positions in the Portland area before moving to Walla Walla in 1971. Len started Isaacs and Associates in May of 1980, selling parts and components for center pivots. At almost 70 years of age, Len sold Isaacs and Associates to his daughter and son-in-law in 2004.
After 24 years of work, retirement was filled with tennis and serving on the board at Fort Walla Walla Museum. Serving two years as president of that board, he was also a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church from 1971 until his death, serving for many years as an usher and in other leadership roles.
Len was preceded in death by his parents and wife. He is survived by his daughters, Kim Morasch (Scott) of Walla Walla and Karen Isaacs of San Diego, CA; granddaughter, Krista Morasch Mather (Nicholas); grandson, Blake Charles Randal Morasch; and great-grandchildren, Charlee, Ella, and Seth Mather; sisters, Laura Stepan and Sharon Drew; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Special mention to his caregivers over the last five years, Irma Mendoza, Maggie Lopez, and Sandra Gutierrez, whose care and caring will be forever remembered.
Memorial services will be held Monday, May 11, 2026, at St Patrick Catholic Church in Walla Walla, Vigil service at 10:15 AM, Memorial at 11:00 AM, with private interment immediately following. A Luncheon will follow at the church fellowship hall.
