Leon "Lee" Emil Loiseau

August 17, 1946 — January 22, 2023

Walla Walla

Leon "Lee" Loiseau of Walla Walla passed away from a cardiac event on January 22, 2023. He was 76 years old. Born August 17, 1946, in Walla Walla, Washington, to Rene and Eva Loiseau, he attended Walla Walla Public Schools, graduating from Walla Walla High School in 1964.

After initially working in dam construction, he went on to work for Union Pacific Railroad in Pasco, then advanced with the company in a move to Seattle, Washington. He later worked at K&L Distributing, first as a beverage delivery driver and later moving into warehouse management. Lee retired from K&L and returned to Walla Walla with his wife, Lynn in 2009. During retirement, he worked part-time in the Union Bulletin's production department, befriending and mentoring many younger co-workers.

In 1970 he married Lynn Christine Perry in Walla Walla. They recently celebrated their 52nd anniversary. While working in Seattle, they made their home in Mercer Island where Lee and Lynn forged strong friendships and enjoyed outings and trips together with their friends for more than forty years.

In his volunteer work, Lee was involved with the Big Brothers of Seattle program and coached Little League baseball in the Magnolia area of the city. An athlete himself, he played the infield in rec-league softball for years and enjoyed skiing and golf. Lee was a car enthusiast but could also be seen all over town on his bicycle, often stopping to greet and talk with a friend or a perfect stranger. He loved gatherings with family and friends and truly never met a stranger. He had the gift of always making everyone feel important and welcome.

Lee is survived by his wife Lynn Loiseau, brother Leri Loiseau and sister Lesli Loiseau. He was preceded in death by a brother Lyn Loiseau. Lee is also survived by in-laws Sally and Chris Erb, Mark and Poe Perry, and Andi & Rod Hitchcock, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are being handled by the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the charity of your choice. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
