Kenneth E. Lovejoy, of Walla Walla, died Thursday, July 2, 2026. He was born to the late Louis and Margaret Lovejoy on June 30, 1930, in Spokane, WA. He graduated from North Central High School in Spokane. Ken and his family moved from Spokane to Walla Walla in 1967.
Ken worked for Pacific Northwest Bell in Spokane and was moved to Walla Walla as a Line and Splicing Manager of Walla Walla and Pasco. He retired in 1989 as Manager of Engineering.
Ken enjoyed his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren; traveling; hunting; and keeping the pool clean for neighbors and family to swim. He traveled to five different continents: Australia; Europe; Africa; North America and South America. He also visited 38 states.
In 1948-1950, Ken became a member of the Naval Reserve and then transferred to The Naval Air Reserve. There he served in Squadron VS901 as an Aircrew Member, flying in the TBM Torpedo Bomber. He trained at eight different Naval Air Stations on the West Coast until 1955.
Mary, Ken's wife of 57 years passed away in October 2012. Ken is survived by: his son, Michael (Tensie) Lovejoy and daughter Debbie (Leon) Kershaw. He is also survived by: three grandchildren, Ashley Kershaw, Aaron Kershaw and Nataya Lovejoy; two great-grandchildren, Eliyah Kershaw and Ronin Kershaw; and several nieces and nephews.
Ken's family would like to thank the staff at Walla Walla Community Hospice. Their care and compassion for Ken was evident with every visit. His family would also like to thank the staff at Serengeti Care for the in-home care they provided.
As per Ken's request, there will be a memorial service for family members. Memorial contributions in his name can be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
