Joyce Marie (Richards) Magnaghi of Walla Walla, formerly of Milton Freewater, Oregon, passed away on May 16, 2025, at Eagle Springs Memory Care Facility at the age of 76.
Joyce Richards was born on May 11, 1949, to Marvin and Dorothy (Ennis) Richards in Walla Walla. Joyce grew up in Milton Freewater with her brother Donald and graduated from Mac-Hi in 1967. After graduating, she attended Whitman College for two years and then moved to Seattle to attend the University of Washington. Joyce moved back to Walla Walla and got a job at Mojonnier Fruit Packing before getting a job as a postal clerk, where she worked for 30 years.
During that time, Joyce met and married her first husband, Al, of 10 years and then divorced. She then dated and married Rick Magnaghi, becoming a stepmother of two daughters and then grandmother of five grandchildren. Rick and Joyce were happily married for 32 years.
Joyce enjoyed bowling, billiards, bunco, crafts, and taking bus trips to Nevada. She also enjoyed going to casinos to play blackjack and slot machines.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Rick Magnaghi, her two stepdaughters (Alyce & Mary), and five grandchildren. Her parents and brother preceded her in death.
A Memorial Service will be held on June 7, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the St. Francis Parish Hall in Walla Walla.
