April 15, 1947 — January 9, 2017

Walla Walla

Jon Tomas Locke, 70, died of natural causes on January 9, 2017, at the Providence St. Mary Medical Center in Walla Walla. Jon was born April 15, 1947, in Stockton, California, to Ransom E. and Peggy Bigham Locke. Jon grew up in California and received his high school diploma in 1966 from Compolindo High School in Contra Costa County, California.

After high school, Jon enlisted with the Airforce September 2, 1966. He served the next four years thru the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in August of 1974. In the Airforce, Jon earned these: medals, merits, commendations; NDSM, AFM-900-3, SAEMR, SD-G200, and HQLMTC.

Jon remained in California until he moved to Walla Walla in 1976. He worked for Pringles Power Vac, a steel company, Snuffy’s Harley Davidson of Walla Walla, and finally for Key Technology.

Words from Wes Ohler: “Jon, or better known to his friends, “Lil Jon,” was my best friend, great building buddy, and riding companion. He was a hard-working man whose word was unbreakable. His loyalty and friendship was an honor to have. Jon loved Harley’s and the biker lifestyle most of all. He enjoyed building bikes almost as much as riding them. Jon was honest, fair, and had a huge heart. Forever missed, he will be.”

John was preceded in death by his parents, Ransom E. and Peggy Bigham Locke.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 5, 2017, at Herring Groseclose Funeral Home, with Pastor Tom Rush officiating. Interment will be held at a later date at the Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA.
