Jon Paul Crudup, age 39, was born and raised in Walla Walla where he peacefully passed away on Feb. 23, 2014.
Jon attended school here in Walla Walla graduating with his GED. He worked for several local businesses throughout the years. He spent his last years dealing with diabetic complications and last resided at Odd Fellows where he was very happy.
Jon (Twelve Toes or Q- Tip as many knew him) had a contagious spirit with an ability to bring a smile and joy to your day. His “smirk” and giggle always left you thinking he had something up his sleeve. He had a heart of gold and always showed sincere compassion towards his friends and family who he loved so much. He was not always able to express but you knew Jon would always be there.
Jon had a passion for football and there was never a question of who the biggest 12th man fan was. The Seahawks, along with family, were what brightened his day. Seeing the Super Bowl win was almost too much for him to grasp! He was already tuned in ready for another winning season! For Christmas 2013, Jon purchased our entire family 12th Man jerseys so that we could all be connected not only as Seahawks fans but as a family. He purchased these long before the holidays and could hardly wait to gift them to everyone.
Jon had two beautiful children, son, Jakobi 15, and daughter, Jazmyne 13, who live in Tennessee. Everyone knew Jon’s children were his whole world. He shared his kids in conversation to all who crossed his path. He was honored to have such smart, kind and strong kids and often day dreamed of all the possibilities life had in store for them.
Jon is survived by his children, Jakobi and Jazmyne; brother, Tyson Crudup; sister, RaeJean Crewse; father, Tomy Crudup; mother, Leah Crudup; and nephews, Jordon, Terrell, Kaileb, Trent and Brendon.
There will be a celebration of life for Jon this spring for everyone to gather and enjoy each other. Family BBQ was a weekly staple of our family and Jon will be honored to have that continue. Any donation in Jon’s memory can be made to Walla Walla St. Mary’s Cancer Society through the Herring Funeral Home.
