John Duane Youd was born in Flin Flon, Manitoba, Canada, on January 7, 1953, to John Clenden Youd and Gloria Delores Youd. At a young age, his family moved to Alberta and later to British Columbia.
John met Kris Shaw in Kamloops, BC, and they were married on July 23, 1974. Together they were the proud parents of four children — Anna, Clayton, David, and Jessica.
In Canada, John worked for Lornex Mines and Northwest Oil Installations. The family later moved to Vanderhoof, BC, in 1980, where John owned Northern Oil and worked as a millwright. In 1986, John and his family relocated to Walla Walla, Washington, to enjoy a warmer climate. There, John began a successful career in sales until his retirement.
John faced many health challenges during the last 25 years of his life, but he never let them slow him down. He remained a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His faith and his church community were always at the center of his life. John and Kris shared a love for travel and adventure, creating many cherished memories together.
John was preceded in death by his father and his beloved eldest daughter, Anna. He is survived by his wife, Kris; his mother, Gloria; his sister, Wanda Perrier and her husband Richard; his brothers, Randall Youd and his wife Donna, and Derek Youd and his wife Tanya. He is also survived by his children — Clayton Youd, David Youd and his wife Maggie, and Jessica Vicari and her husband Jason — along with eight grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
John will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
