John Frank Noal, 85, of Walla Walla, Washington, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026.
John was born September 14, 1940, in Walla Walla to Marino and Vivian Noal. He graduated from Walla Walla High School in 1959. Growing up in Walla Walla, John enjoyed athletics and played baseball, football, and basketball during his school years. He later served his country in the United States Army from 1962 to 1968.
John spent much of his professional life working in the food and beverage manufacturing industry. Over the years, he worked for companies including Birds Eye Frozen Foods and Dean's Foods and their affiliated brands in Walla Walla, Washington; Ames, Iowa; and Fulton, New York. His career took him across the country before he ultimately returned home.
In 2006, John retired and moved back to Walla Walla, where he spent the remainder of his life enjoying the community he always considered home.
John was an avid sports fan, especially devoted to the New York Yankees. He also enjoyed following college football and basketball and could often be found discussing the latest games with friends. In his retirement years, John cherished his daily routine of meeting friends for coffee at Starbucks in downtown Walla Walla. He also enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family.
John was preceded in death by his son, Shannon Williams. John is survived by his daughter, Michelle Fisk of Surprise, Arizona, and her husband Dean Fisk; his three grandchildren, Kyle Fisk (26), Dylan Fisk (25), and Jackson Fisk (23); his sister, Vicki Danielson and her husband Orrin of Walla Walla; sister, Bette Owen of Portland, Oregon; sister, Agnes Cameron of Camas, Washington; and brother, Frank Noal and his wife, Carol of Walla Walla. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
John will be remembered for his love of family, his sense of humor, and the friendships he maintained throughout his life.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Mountain View Cemetery in Walla Walla.
