Tom Drumheller, CEO of Escape Lodging in Cannon Beach, had just completed the largest development project of his life, The Lodge at Columbia Point in Richland, Washington, when he was diagnosed with cancer and died 17 days later.
Drumheller was known to work hard and enjoy life to the fullest, in equal measure, leaving a swath from the Wallowa Mountains to the Oregon coast. He lead an exemplary life of integrity, character and extraordinary kindness. Drumheller ‘walked his talk,’ significantly influencing the lives of his business associates, employees, friends and of course his beloved family. It is poignant and suiting that organizers are challenged to find a large enough venue in which to hold a celebration of Tom's life later this month.
Raised in Walla Walla, WA. Drumheller attended Washington State University. Along with partner Patrick Nofield, Drumheller started a small hospitality company headquartered in Cannon Beach, Oregon that grew to employ nearly 600 loyal and devoted workers. Recognized for his success and expertise in the hospitality industry, he was recently inducted into the Carson College Business Hall of Fame at WSU.
Drumheller is survived by the love his life for over 42 years Christy, his great source of pride, their two daughters Britney and Brook, Brook's husband Cory Burnett and their sons Ethan and Kael.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 28, 2017, 11:00am at North Coast Family Fellowship in Seaside, Oregon. Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at the Mountain View Cemetery of Walla Walla with Father Roger Williams, officiating. A Celebration of Life gathering will follow the graveside services at the Marcus Whitman Hotel at 12:00 Noon in the Explorer Ballroom.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Tom Drumheller Memorial Scholarship at WSU Hospitality Department through the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home 315 W. Alder, Walla Walla, WA. 99362
