Joan Marie (Chase) Weinmaster

Joan Chase Weinmaster was born on November 18, 1955, to Herman and Dorothy Chase in Walla Walla. She attended Assumption School, Pioneer Jr. Hi., and graduated from WA-Hi in 1974. She went to WWCC to earn her nursing degree, following in her mother and grandmother’s footsteps. Joan worked at various nursing homes in the area, starting at the age of 16. She enjoyed being a Mary Kay consultant and became a top salesperson in the area. Later, she worked at the Walla Walla Clinic and finished her nursing career at Washington State Penitentiary.

Joan married Gene Weinmaster in 1977 and lived in Milton Freewater until the mid-90s. She welcomed two sons, Daniel (born in 1978) and Kenneth (born in 1980). In 1995, they built a house in Walla Walla, where she still resided at the time of her death. She loved being around people to share stories. She adored her six grandchildren and attended their events whenever possible. She loved watching the Portland Trailblazers and visiting the Oregon coast, especially the lighthouses.

Joan is survived by her husband, Gene Weinmaster; her children, Daniel (Michelle) and Kenneth; her brother, Craig (Jeane); and her sister, Belinda Tompkins. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Paul, Chris, and John Chase.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 12:00 PM, at Mountain View Cemetery, followed by a Celebration of Life at 1866 VIP Club House, South of the grandstands at the Fairgrounds.
