Janet Jo Tinker

Janet Jo Tinker (Davison), age 84, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2022, with her children by her side.

Janet was born May 18, 1938, to Frank L Davison and Callie Pearl Bruce Davison in Walla Walla. She attended local schools and graduated from Wa-Hi in 1956, and married Earl M Davenport in that same year. Janet married Gordon Bud Wallinger in 1959 and had four children: Sharon Lynn, Brian Lawrence, Sandra Jo, Rebecca Anne, and Stepson, Scott Gordon. In 1986 Janet married Robert H Tinker and learned how to be a farmer.

Janet had various careers: Sears credit dept; Mojonniers billing dept; Baker Boyer Bank - vault teller; Jakey's Flowers - as a designer. Janet loved being a people person and never missed an opportunity to celebrate a Birthday or a Holiday. She was very active in the PTA and loved attending her children's sporting events and, later, her grandchildren's activities. Janet was a longtime and very active member of Christ Lutheran Church with quilting and the altar guild; she also loved crocheting, knitting, embroidery, photography, sewing, and cooking.

Janet was preceded in death by her husbands: Earl Davenport, Gordon Wallinger, and Robert Tinker, and parents, Frank and Callie Davison. Janet is survived by her siblings: Lora Lee (Laurel) Porter, Lynn Dee Suckow, Jim (Pat) Davison; and her children, Scott Wallinger, Sharon (Tracy) Davin, Brian Wallinger (Jen), Sandra Oliver, Rebecca Wallinger, and stepdaughter, Tammi (Dan) Tinker Flynn; 16 Grandchildren: Brad and Brenden Wallinger; Chrystal Davin (Michael) Schmidt, Brandi Davin Anderson, Sidonia Davin (Michael) Plunkett; Austin (Emily) Davin; Travis (Felicity) Chavez, Gordon Wallinger, BriAnne Wallinger, Evan Oliver, Katie Oliver (Josh) Klingenberg and Ty (Eleni) Flynn, Max Flynn, Drake Flynn, Nick Flynn; 12 Great-Grandchildren, Alyssa and Jax Chavez, Serina and William Schmidt, Glenn and Isabella Anderson, Everett and Weston Plunkett, Brooks and  Declan Davin, Ashtyn Wallinger, and Hadley Wallinger; and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023, at 10:00 am, at the Christ Lutheran Church, 1420 S. 2nd Ave., Walla Walla, WA 99362, with Pastor Joel Ley officiating.
