Janet Gehlhausen, 86, of Camas, Washington, passed away on January 7, 2026, with family by her side. Waiting to greet her are her husband, Larry; her brother, Floyd; her sister-in-law, Carol; her nephew, Dale; and her parents, Floyd and Hazel.
Janet is survived by her three children, Pamela Hanger (Jay), Steve Gehlhausen (Cathy), and Marla Capra (David); three grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
Janet grew up in Madison, Wisconsin. She attended 1 year of nursing at Rockford Memorial Hospital and then attended the University of Wisconsin. After college, Janet moved to San Francisco, California, where she met and married Larry.
Larry and Janet moved to Walla Walla, where they built their family home. Janet was active in crafts, including oil painting, wood carving, and sewing. She enjoyed outings and get-togethers with family and friends, and for many years hosted a 4th of July picnic.
Janet retired in 2004 as Bookkeeper at Walla Walla Catholic Schools. She returned to the big city by moving to Camas in 2020.

The Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, January 26, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Assumption Catholic Church. There will be a reception following at the Assumption Parish Center.
