Janell Lee Reyman

Janell Lee (Groom) Reyman of Walla Walla, passed away at Walla Walla General Hospital, Sunday, January 15, 2017, at the age of 68.

Janell was born August 18, 1948, at the Dayton Hospital in Dayton, to Morrison and Linda Groom. The family lived in Waitsburg with Janell attending school there from kindergarten through high school. She was baptized and belonged to the First Christian Church in Waitsburg. It was there that she taught Sunday School as a teenager. One of her favorite things to do was to walk from Waitsburg to Dayton with her best friend, Andrea. The day right after Janell’s graduation in 1966, the family moved to Walla Walla.

Janell had four sons who were the love of her life. She was a very dedicated mom. William (Bill), her oldest, was in a car accident, leaving him paralyzed at the age of 17. Janell became his 24 hour caregiver for 32 years, up to the time of her death. His good health is a testament of her love and devotion.

Janell is survived by her sons: Bill Groom, Andy (Melissa) Bennett, Mike (Amy) Bennett; sisters, Sharon (JR) Pauley, Judy (Jim) Simmons, Carol (Keith) Gradwohl, Donna (Larry) Walker; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a very special and dear friend, Adrian Fletcher. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, John Bennett; brothers, Don Groom and Dennis Groom.

Life, at times, was not easy, but Janell endured with the help of family, friends and God’s hands. Our hearts are broken and not a day goes by that we don’t think about and miss her!

Interment will be at a later date in the spring. Memorial donations may be made to the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home, 315 W. Alder, Walla Walla, or Meals on Wheels through the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home.
