Janel Marie Haer

Janel Marie Haer was born in Seattle, Washington on February 6, 1957 to Darrell Eugene Ankrom & Donna Marie (Gorman) Ankrom. She passed away due to cancer on August 19, 2014.

The family moved from Enumclaw, Washington when Janel was in the first grade and she graduated from Enumclaw High School class of 1975. Janel moved to Walla Walla in 1977 to attend the Walla Walla Community College Nursing Program.

She married Shaldon Ralph Haer in Walla Walla on May 27, 1978 and they had 2 children, Patrick Brian Haer & Kelly Ann (Haer) Carver. Janel worked for the Walla Walla Clinic for over 35 years, the last 16 years for Dr. Phillip Morgan. She loved her family, the patients, her co-workers, her job & all animals especially horses.

She is survived by her husband, Shaldon; son, Patrick; daughter, Kelly & son-in-law, Adam; grandchildren, Kyle, Aiden & Avery Carver all of Walla Walla. She is also survived by her mother & stepfather, Donna & Melvin Turben of Walla Walla; brother, Richard Ankrom of Los Angeles, CA, brother, Douglas Ankrom & wife Peg of Prescott, WA and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her father.

The Memorial Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 10:00 AM at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Mark Koonz officiating. There will be a private family interment. Following the memorial service, there will be a Potluck Celebration of Life will be held at the Walla Walla Elks Lodge on Saturday, August 23, 2014 from 11:00 AM until 3:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Regional Cancer Center through the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home, 315 W. Alder, Walla Walla, WA.
