James Arthur Kooreny

James A. Kooreny died October 29, 2015 in Walla Walla. Born August 18, 1938 in Minot, North Dakota to Jack & Norma Kooreny.

James was a lifelong resident of Walla Walla for 72 years after coming to Walla Walla at age 5. After graduating from Wa-Hi, he attended WSU where he received a Bachelor Degree in Science majoring in Physics. After college, he worked at Key Equipment and received rewards for his inventive accomplishments.

Being the kind, gentle soul he was, the life of a little mouse was more important than the walking distance to Pioneer Park to release it to live.

James is survived by his sister, Joan Stimmel of Kennewick; brother, David Kooreny of Enumclaw. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack & Norma Kooreny and a brother, Donald Kooreny.

Graveside funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at 12 Noon with Reverend Steve Morris officiating at Mountain View Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Washington State University Physics Department through the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home, 315 W. Alder, Walla Walla, WA.
