James Thomas “Jim” Blakely, 80, of Walla Walla passed away Monday, March 21, 2016, at Regency at the Park. Jim was born Aug. 22, 1935, in Tungsten, Colo., to Roy and Francis Blakely.
Jim lived the majority of his adult life in Walla Walla and retired from the Washington State Penitentiary in 1990 after 27 years as a correctional officer.
Jim is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rosene; son,Dan (Patty) Blakely of Walla Walla; daughter, Bonnie Blakely of Irrigon, Ore.; brothers, Mick (Naomi) Blakely of Coeur D’Alene, Don (Andrea) Blakely of Malo, Wash., and Jerry (Heather) Blakely of Sandpoint, Idaho; seven grandchildren and seven greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Danny Blakely; and daughter, Becky Blakely-Cantley.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at 3 p.m. at the Northside SDA Church, 1103 Dell Ave., Walla Walla. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross (Walla Walla
Chapter), Northside SDA Church or a charity of the donor’s choice through Herring Groseclose Funeral
