Jacqueline May Klicker passed away Friday, July 27, 2018 at the Washington Odd Fellows Home in Walla Walla, Washington.
On January 25, 1937 she was born Jacqueline Gibbons in Freewater, Oregon. She spent her first ten years in a near-orphan state. Jackie and her brother Bill had the great fortune to be adopted by Leora and William Hill. Her parents instilled in her a strong sense of family and work ethic. The Importance of work brought her to the Klicker Strawberry Farm, where she became one of the top pickers of her day. At the Strawberry Farm is where she met Donald Klicker, who had just returned from the service. Jackie was well known for her creativity as a decorator at school and church for many social events. That creativity was the catalyst for her lifelong success as a Christmas wreath maker and decorator.
Jackie graduated from Wa-Hi in 1955, and then she was off to college. After a year at college, it was obvious to Don and Jackie that they should be married. So began 62 years together, 5 children and a family business, Klicker Berry Stand, which continues to thrive. It was never easy, yet because of Jackie’s strong character, work ethic, and love for others it worked. She was active at Pioneer United Methodist Church and Rebekah Lodge.
The Jackie is survived by her husband, Don Klicker, at home; sons, Ron (Leslie), John (Julie), Kyle (Monique), daughter, Donna (Blake) Lindberg, her brother Bill Hill (Darlene), 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren.
Jackie is preceded in death by her parents, William and Leora Hill and her son Delbert Klicker.
