Jacquie was born in Walla Walla to Earl G. Gordon Jr. and Thelma (Cline) Gordon, on December 29, 1945. She attended Baker School, Edison Elementary, and Pioneer Junior High. In 1959, the Gordon family moved to South San Francisco, California, where she attended and graduated Balboa High School in San Francisco in 1964. In the fall of 1966, in a small coffee shop on Market Street, Jacquie met a young sailor, Robert Jones, who she later married.
Their first child, Stacy Marie, was born October 1970, at the Presidio in San Francisco, while Rob was still on active duty in the Navy. After he was discharged from active duty, Rob and Jacquie moved back to Walla Walla in May 1971. Their second child, Tracy Aaron, was born March 1974, in the original St. Mary’s Hospital (which is now the parking lot). Jacquie cared for and raised the couple’s children, while Rob worked at the Washington State Penitentiary. She was ever present in her children’s lives growing up; Jacquie made sure her children were the priority in their lives.
As the children grew, Jacquie went to work part time, first for General Hospital and then later for Minnick Hayner (Attorneys at Law). Jacquie worked at Minnick Hayner for 5 years, until she decided to retire.
In retirement, Jacquie and Rob, were inseparable, rarely would you see one without the other. They enjoyed traveling and taking spur-of-the-moment drives, hitting the auctions, finding treasures in small shops, visiting with friends, and they had visited Disneyland at least 10 times, both with and without their children.
Jacquie is survived by her husband of 48 years, Robert Jones; daughter, Stacy Jones; and son, Tracy Jones.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Earl G. Gordon, Jr and Thelma Gordon; and brother, Earl G. Gordon III.
