Jacqueline Hanek DuVon, age 74, of Richland passed away on Feb. 7, 2013, at Kadlec Regional Medical Center with her family and close friends at her side.
She was born on Oct. 15, 1938, in Walla Walla to Chester and Rachel Hanek. After her high school graduation, she met the love of her life, Donald L. DuVon. They were married for 55 years. She was a retired supervisor on the Hanford Reservation.
Jackie is survived by her husband, Donald DuVon of Richland; her sister, Geraldine Gnoinsky (Ralph) of Edmonds, Wash.; son, Douglas DuVon (Belinda) of Kennewick; daughter, Deborah Galpin (Ron) of Richland; daughter, Donna DuVon of Spokane. She is further survived by six grandchildren, Jeffrey Galpin, Rachel Galpin, Jordan DuVon, Britany DuVon, Joshua DuVon and Jonathan DuVon.
Her funeral service will by officiated by Rev. Jim Dyson on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Northwest United Protestant Church, 1312 Sacramento Blvd., Richland. For directions, go to nwupchurch.org. Herring Groseclose Funeral Home in Walla Walla is handling the arrangements and the interment will follow at a later date.
