Longtime resident and business owner, Jack F. McDonald, passed away at St. Mary’s hospital surrounded by his loving wife and
family on May 21, 2012.

At 83 years young, he leaves us all with strong encouragement to enjoy life to the fullest, to worry less, and laugh often! Family gatherings, travel, and sports were the seasonings of his
favorite joys!

Jack was the third child born to John F. and Mary McDonald on August 7, 1928 in Walla Walla, Wa. He was a graduate of Sharpstein Grade School, Walla Walla High School, and Whitman College with an Economics BA. While there he met and married his college sweetheart, Margy on August 19, 1950.

He began and worked as an insurance agent/broker at the McDonald Agency, now known as McDonald Zaring Insurance. He is
a past president of the state IIA Insurance Broker’s of Washington
State, and served on it’s national board as well in the 1980’s. He has been a member of the Exchange Club for over 50 years, Four Seasons, El Katif Shriners, Elks, and the Walla Walla Country Club. Jack enjoyed
the many daily “coffee” groups over the years, as well as playing golf and cards with friends!

Jack leaves his wife Margy, and three children and their families:
Mary Lynn Thompson (husband Mark) of Walla Walla, Wa., J.D. McDonald (wife Leslie) of Mill Creek, Wa., Nancy McLean (husband
Roy) of Kennewick, Wa., and eight grandchildren: Matt, Andy, David,
Megan, Trevor, Camden, Sarah, and Corey, and one great grandchild,
Malcolm Thompson. Nieces, Susan Sack, Walla Walla, Wa. and Mary
Soderstrom, Montreal, QC. Spouses of grandchildren, Mikal, Shane,
and Katelynn, and a multitude of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Ella McGowan, and Norma Van Vranken, and niece Laurie Down.

A private family interment will be held at Blue Mountain Memorial
Gardens, and a Memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. on May 29, 2012 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Walla Walla with a reception following in Campbell Hall.
