Houston had a tender heart but, was also full of life, a young man who thought deeply about life, who had original ideas about the world, and who loved all of those around him.

Having attended Santa Monica College, College of the Desert & the Berklee School of Music’s audio digital production programs, his passion was to create music. Multi-talented he studied, wrote, composed, sang, played guitar & piano. He especially enjoyed creating music with his friends and band members. He was well versed, an avid writer and Poet who spent his free time studying philosophy, eastern religion, and science arts.

He loved the wilderness, hiking and meditation, however, he delighted most in long, deep, intellectual conversation. He had been a member of the Palm Desert Dualing Lightsabers Club. Serious by nature, he had the great quality of laughter. Our family's greatest moments are the times we shared loving, laughing, hiking with and hugging on our sweet Hou.

He truly was a brilliant and genuinely gifted young man. People as gifted as him can have sensitivity that is so deep, enormous, and pure that all the world's problems can feel like their own to bear. He was truly a free spirit and his absolute authenticity touched everyone he met. Houston’s loving impression upon us will endure for all time.

Survived by his mom, Robin Huss, his dad, Troy Sherrod, grandparents, Dale & Faith Huss, Bob and Lola Riddle, his brother, Hoyt Cooper, sister & brother In law, Spencer & Kristin Andrade, uncles & aunts, Dale D. & Merja Huss, Michael & Jennifer Wittke Huss, Teenya Zierer and many cousins including Samantha, Amanda, Alexis, Aaron, Sean, Jake, Zach & Owen. Little Owen & Aili.

Preceded in death by Grandpa Bill Sherrod and Uncle Thane Sherrod.

Viewing and Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home from 10:00AM until 7:00PM.
There will be a private Celebration of Life at a later date.
