Herbert “Fish” Fisher Jr., 83, passed away quietly to be with Jesus at his home.
He was born in New Bern, N.C., to the late Herbert and Zelmyra Fisher Sr. Herbert graduated from West Street High School, attended college, and joined the U.S. Air Force; and retired after 20 years of service. As a result of fighting in several wars he earned numerous medals, awards and ribbons. After his military duty he selected Walla Walla to be his permanent home. Working as an alcohol and abuse counselor at the VA Hospital and actively participating in many social and religious organizations. Herbert was an avid fisherman, hunter and baseball fan.
Herbert is survived by his son, Devon Andrew Fisher and his mother, LexAnn Hall; two sisters, two brothers-in-law, three nieces, six nephews and a host of great nieces, nephews and cousins.
Viewing and Visitation will be held Monday, October 23, 2017 from 2PM-5PM at the Herring Funeral Home.
A Celebration of life will be held October 24, at 11AM at the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home
with Pastor Steve Morris, officiating.
Herbert’s final resting place will be in New Bern.
