Heidi Kathleen Neal

Heidi Kathleen Neal, age 44, passed away at Providence St. Mary Hospital on Dec. 14, 2013, after a short battle with cancer.

Heidi was born on Feb. 17, 1969 in Walla Walla to John and Joan Hines. She married Meade M. Neal on Feb. 2, 2002 in Couer d’ Alene. She resided for most of her life in Walla Walla with the exception of living in the Netherlands for two years with her husband, Meade. She attended local schools and graduated from Walla Walla Community College with two degrees.

Heidi worked for several insurance agencies in the local area, as she was a licensed insurance agent. She was a very devoted wife and mother. She really enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling in the U.S. and abroad, as well as attending the local fair and rodeos, lending a helping hand when needed. She was involved in playing softball locally for many years. She had a very huge heart, a great smile, with always a sense of humor.

She is survived by her husband, Meade Neal of Walla Walla; daughter, Whitney Gonzales of Walla Walla; sons, Patrick Neal (Kelly) of Spanaway, Wash., James Neal (Wenting Ge) of Beijing, China, and John Neal of Seattle; brothers, Jayme Hines of Walla Walla, and Jeff Hines of Finley, Wash.; sisters, Stacy Humphreys (Mike) and Jill Ansorge (Brad), both of Walla Walla; grandsons, Gatsby Campanelli of Walla Walla, Jack Neal of Spanaway; granddaughter, Breanna Neal of Spanaway; numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be a celebration of life held Dec. 27, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Walla Walla Wagon Wheelers Club House on Hussey Road. A private family interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Blue Mountain Humane Society, Providence St. Mary Regional Cancer Center or Hospice of Walla Walla through Herring Groseclose Funeral Home, 315 W. Alder, Walla Walla, WA 99362.
