Hazel A. Pomraning

Hazel A. Pomraning, lifelong resident of Walla
Walla, passed away on May 20, 2016.
Hazel was born Oct. 18, 1927, to Lloyd H. Bennett
and Leona (Powell) Bennett. She married Max O.
Prest on Oct. 14, 1946, and together they raised four
daughters. In 1977, Hazel married Kenneth N. Pomraning.
Hazel is survived by her daughters, Donna (Scot)
Barron and Sandra Hallowell; her sister, Patricia
Gardner; her brother, James Bennett; six grandchildren,
10 great-grandchildren, and one greatgreat-
grandchild. She was preceded in death by her
parents; two husbands, Max and Kenneth; and two
daughters, Gaye Abajian and Kay Maiuri.
Viewing and visitation will be held on Wednesday,
May 25, from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. at Herring Groseclose
Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held
on Thursday, May 26, at 1 p.m. at the Mountain
View Cemetery with Pastor Zach Taylor officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Walla Walla
Community Hospice, YWCA or the Blue Mountain
Humane Society through the funeral home, 315 W.
Alder, Walla Walla.
