Walla Walla resident, Harold "Harley" Eggers, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at the age of 88. Harold, known to his family and friends as" Harley," was the first of three children to Otto and Marie Eggers.
After graduating from Walla Walla High School in 1943, he worked on the family farm and also became a Rodeo Cowboy as a bull rider and bareback riding and later owned and operated his own trucking company.
He met Doris Walery and they were married in 1953. He had 9 children, Scott, Troy, Mary, Sonny, Murray, Dan, Tracey, Todd and Kelly. One of his greatest joys in life was to watch his kids and grandkids participate in all the different seasonal sports.
He leaves us with 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Harley was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Marie Eggers; his wife, Doris and a daughter, Mary (Eggers) Fletcher.
A graveside service, officiated by Rev. Mark Koonz will be on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Blue Mountain Memorial Gardens on Myra Rd. Memorial contributions may be made to the Blue Mountain Young Life through the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home, 315 W. Alder, Walla Walla, WA.
