Hale Kuhlman, 84, passed away July 14, 2015 at home after a long struggle with Pulmonary Fibrosis.
Hale was born on August 25, 1930 in Gridley, California. He graduated from Lodi Academy in 1949. He served in the US Army from 1953 to 1955. He was married to Dolores Flemmer on June 20, 1954 in Sacramento, California. Hale followed his life ambition to be a farmer growing peaches & prunes in the Yuba City, CA area from 1955 until 1971. He then moved with his family to Pauma Valley, CA where he managed several avocado & citrus groves until he retired and moved to Walla Walla, WA in 2008.
He was a passionate fisherman and hunter & enjoyed several trips with his kids while his health allowed. During his retirement, he traveled extensively with his wife, family & friends visiting five different continents.
Hale is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dolores Kuhlman; his four children, Hale & Coleen Kuhlman of Valencia, CA, Curtis Kuhlman of Walla Walla, WA, Brad & Lisa Kuhlman of Santa Maria, CA and Renee & Mark McKaig of Riverside and 10 grandchildren. Also surviving is his sister, Myrtle Samia. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter-in-law, Teri Kuhlman; 2 brothers, Quintin & Norman Kuhlman and 2 sisters, Elizabeth Jensen & Adela Amundson.
The family will be having a memorial service at the Eastgate Seventh Day Adventist Church on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the SonBridge Community Center or Amistad International through the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home, 315 W. Alder, Walla Walla, WA.
