Gordon Ray Pitner, 79, of Walla Walla, passed away on January 4, 2026, at Providence St. Mary's.

He was born on October 26, 1946, to Victor and Charlene Pitner in Walla Walla, WA.

He graduated from Walla Walla High School and went on to serve in the National Guard. He married JoAnna Tofta on August 16, 1968. Together, they had a daughter, Sara, in 1977.

He was an avid lover of cars, and frequently showed at Vintiques, and weekend car shows around the northwest, and community parades.

He loved watching sports and was a fan of the Seattle Seahawks and Seattle Mariners. He also coached softball for several years.

He made a friend everywhere he went and never met an animal he didn't love. He battled several illnesses with grit and determination to live for his family and watch his granddaughters graduate from high school and college.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, JoAnna; his daughter, Sara Edwards (Willie); and granddaughters, Morgan, Taylor, and Bridget Edwards.
