Glenn Richard (Bud) Toland Jr., 75 years old, died Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Odd Fellows Nursing Home in Walla Walla, Washington. He was born to Angie O. (Fadness) Toland and Glenn R. Toland in Mobridge, South Dakota, on July 17, 1948. “Bud” graduated from Wa Hi in 1967 and from Walla Walla Community College with a degree in electronics. He was employed by Bird’s Eye Frozen Foods and D&K Frozen Foods. Bud enjoyed jeeping, plinking, woodworking, and trains. He was a long-time member of the Walla Walla Toy Train Club. Bud attended the College Place Presbyterian Church. He loved Jesus Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, aunts, and uncles. He is survived by Aunt Priscilla Fadness, Walla Walla, and numerous cousins, including Peggy Soehnlen (Ohio), Shirley Toland (Ohio), Nancy Carter (Ohio), Marion King (Walla Walla), Leann Beall (Washington), Mary Brune (Washington) and numerous other cousins and their children. He was lovingly visited by his lifelong friends Bertie VanDyke and Patsy Bafus. He was friends with Paul Snively (jeeping and plinking) and Olan Long (train club).
The staff at Odd Fellows Assisted Living treated Bud with kindness and gentle concern. After two COVID jabs, his speech, mobility, and health deteriorated. He was moved to Odd Fellows Nursing Home, where he was also treated with kindness and gentle concern. His speech gradually improved, but not his mobility. He enjoyed playing Poker, Pinochle, Bingo and attending activities. His cremains will be interred with his mother in the Blue Mountain Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
There will be a Celebration of Life in the Spring.
