Glen and Lauretta were married at Stateline Baptist Church on Aug. 1, 1999. Glen was born Feb. 23, 1927, in or near Miles City, Mont.
Glen enjoyed outdoor activities, fishing, boating with friends and wife Lauretta. He had membership with Stateline Baptist Church, Gold Seekers Club and the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed fellowship with other believers at church. He traveled in the winter months to Arizona and resided in Lake Havasau City and traveled the Southwest. He with many other accomplishments built and flew an ultra-lite airplane from Martin Field in College Place over the Walla Walla Valley. He was an enlisted veteran, diving for the U.S. Navy during World War II. He began a career in business in Bremerton, Wash., operating a music and gun shop. He was also a deputy officer for the Bremerton Police Department and Wallowa County Sheriff’s Department.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Irving and Martha Knopf; his wife, Doris Neuhauser Knopf. He is survived by his wife, Lauretta Cummins Knopf; three children, Eric Knopf of Poulsbo, Wash., Luane Clymo of Haines, Ore., and Suellen Johnston of Bremerton, Wash.; five grandchildren; two greatgrandchildren; sister, Sally Zoric of Littleton, Colo.; and two nephews.
Viewing will be Thursday, Sept. 17, from 3-7 p.m. and Friday, Sept. 18, from 9-noon at Herring Groseclose Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held Friday, Sept. 18, at 2 p.m. at Blue Mountain Memorial Gardens in College Place. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice through the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home, 315 W. Alder, Walla Walla, WA.
