Gladys V. (Fulton) Yaw passed away peacefully at home in Dixie on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014.
She was born near Dixie on March 16, 1923, to Robert and Daisy (Dodge) Fulton. She married Clifford L. Yaw on March 10, 1943, in Walla Walla. Gladys and Cliff lived in Dixie their entire married life. They had five children, Larry, Ralph, Bob, Jeannie and Bill. She is preceded in death by her parents; all of her siblings; her husband; her daughter, Jeannie Lee; and her son, Larry; as well as a great-granddaughter, Stephanie Joe Yaw. She is survived by her sons, Ralph (Lynne), Bob (Helen) and Bill. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Gladys graduated from Dixie High School. She was named postmaster of the Dixie Post Office in December 1979, after working for the United States Post Office for many years. She retired in 1992.
Memorial donations may be given to the Dixie Cemetery Fund through Herring-Groseclose Funeral Home. Her remains will be interred at Blue Mountain Memorial Gardens in a private ceremony. A potluck gathering to celebrate her life will be held at the Dixie Fire Hall on Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014 at 1 p.m.
