Gerald “Jerry” Lewis Locati went to eternal rest on November 17, 2023, at Providence St. Mary Medical Center.
Gerald was born to August and Genevieve (Bossini) Locati on April 18, 1934. Gerald was born and raised in Walla Walla. After graduating high school, he joined the Air Force in June 1953 and received an honorable discharge in June 1957.
He married Barbara Shepard on May 2, 1954. Barb passed away in April 2016. The couple had no children.
Gerald worked as a pilot, mechanic, and inspector for Mountain State Aviation. He received the Charles Taylor Master Mechanic Roll of Honor award in October 2019. Gerald proudly maintained all of his licenses, including his pilot’s license.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; Parents; and brother, Tom. He is survived by his nephews, Tom, Jerry, and Steve, and niece, Lori Locati.
An expression of gratitude is extended to Walla Walla Valley Home Care and staff. The family would like to recognize the kindness of friends and neighbors for keeping his property manicured. Special thanks to Tracey Hendrix for always ensuring Jerry was taken care of and, most importantly, being his trusted friend.
Viewing and Visitation will be held from 4-6 pm, Friday, December 1, 2023, with the Rosary following at 6:00 pm at the Chapel of the Herring Funeral Home, 315 W Alder St, Walla Walla, WA. The Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at 10:00 am, at St. Francis Catholic Church, 722 W Alder St, Walla Walla, WA with Father Andrew O’Leary celebrating.
