Genevieve "Velda" Perry

Genevieve “Velda” Perry, 85, died Dec. 12, 2016, at Walla Walla General Hospital, with her children by her side.

Velda was born in Baker, Ore., to Edwin Welton and Emma Evelyn Pritchard Blue and married Charles D. Perry, Dec. 11, 1951. Velda lived most of her life in Walla Walla, being a sister, wife, mother, nurse and a friend to many! She was a member of the Stateline SDA Church and enjoyed loving and serving this community in various ways.

Velda is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Melody and Michael Mierop; son and daughter-in-law, Ed and Dawn Perry; grandson and wife, Andrew and Amy Perry; two great-grandchildren, Ella and Lyncoln Perry; two sisters, Cora Preston and Maida Page; brother-in-law, Thomas Page; sister-in-law, Mary Perry; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband.

Burial will be private in Mount Hope Cemetery, and a memorial service is planned for March 25, 2017.
