Frank Lane, age 85, of Walla Walla, entered into Heaven on November 25, 2022, at Regency at the Park. He was born April 6, 1937, to Florence (Dye) and Orville Lane, in Toledo, OR. As a child, they moved from Lebanon, OR to Albany. He was involved in Little League and FFA. He graduated from Albany High School in 1955. He then moved to Milton-Freewater to work in the canary, where he met Frances Criscola, who brought him home to meet her daughter, the love of his life and wife of 62 years, Patti (Criscola). They were married on September 10, 1960, in St. Francis Catholic Church.
Frank went to work in 1958 as a surveyor for the Corps of Engineers. He ended up in Water Quality until retiring after 37 years in 1995. He was asked to join the Conservation Service in 2000 and worked an additional 13 years issuing burn permits for local farmers. He thoroughly loved the one-on-one with the farmers.
Frank was involved in bowling and coaching Jr bowlers, the Elks, and the Eagles. In addition, he was a member of the 59ers riding group and Steppin’ Country line dancers.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Florence (Dye) Lane; his sister, Florence (Lane) Kahut; and his son, David Lane.
He is survived by his wife, Patti (Criscola) Lane; daughter, Kori (Lane) Pearson and husband Tracy, Kristina (Lane) Tice and husband Ben; grandchildren, Hillary (Pearson) Baker and husband Wade, Lane Pearson and wife Courtney, Hayleigh Pearson, Logan Pearson, Heather (McKeown) McLaughlin and husband Cory, Sam Tice, Evan Tice and wife Abby; great-grandchildren, Ellie McLaughlin, Claire McLaughlin, Braxton and Kannon Pearson, Emmett and Piper Pearson, and Ren Baker; also numerous nieces and nephews.
A recitation of the Rosary will take place on December 16, 2022, at 6:00 PM, at the Chapel of the Herring Funeral Home in Walla Walla, with Nick Moramarco officiating. The Funeral Mass will be on December 17, 2022, at 10:00 AM, at St. Francis Catholic Church, with Father Lourdu Mummadi celebrating.
