Frank D. Cantu

April 9, 1943 — September 22, 2025

Walla Walla

Frank D. Cantu, 82, of Walla Walla, WA, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, September 22, 2025.

He was born on April 9, 1943, in Edinburgh, Texas. On February 23, 1963, Frank married the love of his life, Angelita "Angie" Cantu, and together they built a beautiful life and family. They were blessed with seven children: Martin, Marcos, Melissa, Melinda, and Monica. Two of their children passed away as infants, and Frank carried their memory in his heart throughout his life.

Frank worked for Union Pacific Railroad for many years, where he built lasting friendships and a reputation for hard work and dedication. After a long and fulfilling career, he retired, enjoying more time with his family and the hobbies he loved.

He will be remembered for his love of simple pleasures-fishing, visiting the Wildhorse, working tirelessly to keep his lawn in top shape, savoring his coffee and cookies, and cheering on his favorite football team, the Pittsburgh Steelers. Frank also loved to cook, especially his famous menudo, and he loved having the whole family gathered around to enjoy his meals. He had a gift for storytelling and always knew how to make people laugh with his humor, leaving those around him with smiles and warm memories.

His greatest joy was his family. He cherished every moment spent with Angie, his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. The love and laughter he shared with them will be his lasting legacy.

Frank is survived by his brother, John, and sisters, Angie, Tomasa, Paula, and Mary, his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many other beloved family members. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Angie; his parents, Navidad and Eloisa; his brothers, Roy, Joe, and Gilbert; and his sister, Rosa.

Though his presence will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in knowing Frank is reunited in heaven with his beloved wife, Angie, and they are together once again.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home, 315 W Alder St, Walla Walla. Friends and family are invited to sign the online guestbook at www.herringgroseclose.com.
