Fortunato "Nato" Romero

It is with deep sadness and much love that we mourn the passing of Fortunato "Nato" Romero, age 86. He passed peacefully in his home in Milton Freewater, OR, on Saturday, April 06, 2024. Nato lived a beautiful life. He came to the U.S. in 1983; he married the love of his life, Lorita, in 1987. Together, they enjoyed road trips and visits to the coast. Nato had a special place in his heart for nature. He and his wife shared a love for gardening and photography. He worked for many years and retired from Herring Funeral Home, work he enjoyed and always remembered fondly.

He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Antonio and Carlota Romero, and also by his loving wife, Lorita Romero.

He is survived by his sisters, Concha and Norma Romero of Monterrey, Mexico. Survivors also include his nieces, Blanca A. Ruiz and Isabel M. Ruiz, as well as numerous relatives and friends.

Viewing and Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, from 2:00 – 6:00 PM at Herring Funeral Home, with the Rosary to follow at 6:00 PM.
