Flora Dell Pisca

March 24, 1935 — March 22, 2014

Flora Dell Pisca born on March 24, 1935, passed away on March 22, two days before her 79 th birthday at her home in Touchet, WA. She was the third daughter born to Olive Gray (Green) and William Jasper Morris of Freewater, OR. She grew up in the Milton Freewater area attending schools in both Pleasant View and Freewater.

She was better known as Dell to both family and friends. She loved to crochet, knit, and quilt and made numerous afghans, sweaters, quilts and many smaller projects for family and friends. She also loved to cloth paint and made table cloths and dish towels. She passed her love for crocheting and knitting to her daughter Virginia.

She was an avid bowler and bowled with a league from Milton-Freewater for several years, often taking 1 or 2 of her children to watch them every week, until the bowling alley where she bowled, (The Totem Bowl), burned down. She passed her love of quilting and bowling to her daughter DeeVee.

Dell and her husband Joe loved to play cards and spent many an evening around the table playing pinochle, pitch, cribbage, or poker with friends and family. She loved to play Bingo and would go with Joe, DeeVee and/or Shirley as often as possible. She also loved reading and gardening. Her favorite flowers were tulips and African violets. Above all was her love of watching her children and grandchildren play the various sports they excelled in. Whether it was school related sports, Little League, soccer, or bowling, both in town and out, you could always find her watching from the sidelines. She passed this love of sports, including bowling, to all four of her sons, Bill, Don, Rocko and Joe.

She will be missed by her surviving sister, Thelma (Morris) Brock of Spokane, her son William (Bill) Gosney of Touchet, her daughter Virginia (Gosney) Blackmar of The Dalles, OR, her daughter DeeVee (Henrichs) Garcia of Touchet, her sons Donald (Don) Henrichs, Rocky (Rocko) Pisca, Joseph (Joe) Pisca all of Touchet, her step-sons Ray Joe Pisca of Boise, ID, Nick Pisca and Patrick (Pat) Pisca of California, her many grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph (Joe) Pisca, her sisters Dorothy (Morris) Palat of Florida, and Shirley (Morris) Engman of Walla Walla, her first granddaughter Tara Gosney of Touchet, her niece Rhonda (Engman) Kenworthy of Walla Walla, and several loved Aunts, Uncles, and cousins.

There will be a Celebration of Life Potluck in Touchet on Saturday, April 5 th , at the Lions’ Hall on Gardena Hill at 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Touchet Educational Foundation through the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home, 315 W. Alder St., Walla Walla, WA 99362.
