Flavio DeLaRosa was born in Orange Grove, Texas on April 18, 1929 to Doroteo and Dolores DeLaRosa, the second of five children. He passed away May 16, 2018 in Puyallup, Washington after living an exciting 89 years of life. He married Narcisa Maria DeLaRosa on December 7, 1949. They were married for 68 years and had 15 children. As a migrant worker he traveled all over the US residing in Texas, Arizona, Kansas, Wyoming, California, Idaho, Oregon and then settled in Walla Walla, Washington in 1974.
Flavio was a family man. He enjoyed spending time with them and packing up their station wagon to travel 100’s of miles to visit them. He introduced his sons to wrestling (which they excelled in) and liked to watch boxing on the weekends while relaxing and enjoying a cold beverage. If he wasn’t working he liked to listen to Norteño music, Country music or his two sons Oscar and Victor play the guitar. He appreciated hearing and watching his daughter (Lupe) and granddaughters choreograph dances and sing songs at their family gatherings. Flavio was a son, a father, a brother, a husband, a grandfather and will be greatly missed but never forgotten by all.
He is survived by his wife Narcisa Maria DeLaRosa, 4 daughters: Maria, Gloria (Edilberto), Lupe and Alma and 7 sons; Ramon (Gloria), Flavio (Tina), Jose, Fransicso, Jesse (Tamara), Eddie and Victor (Amanda). He had 60 grandchildren, 80 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an older brother a sister, two sons (Eloy and Oscar), two daughters (Dolores and Rosa) and a great grandson.
Viewing and Visitation will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, May 21, 2018 at the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home followed by the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00PM. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00AM on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at St. Patrick Catholic Church followed by a procession to Mountain View Cemetery where he will be laid to rest. A reception will follow at Blanchet Hall..
