Evelyn May Jennings

On November 21, 2017, at 11:40 AM, Evelyn May Jennings, 88, passed away peacefully at Providence St. Mary Medical Center of natural causes. Evelyn was born in Brunswick, Nebraska, on May 10, 1929, to Fredrick W and Theresa L Mauer.

Evelyn moved to Walla Walla in her younger years and met the love of her life, Roy L. Jennings Sr., and married only after knowing each other 2 weeks. They married July 22, 1950. They lived in the Walla Walla area along with Roy’s parents and Evelyn’s parents. Roy and Evelyn had three children together. Roy (Rocky) L. Jennings Jr. born 1951, Marcus John Jennings born 1956, Tamara Jennings-Vance born 1958. Evelyn worked at a very popular restaurant in Walla Walla the “Pastime Café” for 17 years waitressing. Fond memories of the restaurant are shared by the family.

Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Roy L. Jennings Sr., in 2007; father and mother; brothers, Fred, Harlen, John and Dean Mauer; and sister, Deloris Ratliff.

She is survived by her children her and Roy had together. Rocky Jennings and wife Debbi Jennings, Marcus Jennings and wife Mary Jennings, Tamara Jennings-Vance and husband Richard Vance; grandchildren together, Micky and Amy Jennings, Shaunna Jennings, Jacinta and Philp Wahner, Elizabeth Jennings, Levi Jennings, Alex Jennings, Beau and Allison Cummings, Bronson Cummings, Christine and Matt Owsley, Cody Vance; 12 great-grandchildren together; numerous nieces and nephews. She also had four step-children from Roy’s previous marriage; numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; numerous step nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services will be Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 10 AM at Blue Mountain Memorial Gardens. There will be a potluck gathering afterward at the House at Blue Mountain Memorial Gardens, all are welcome to attend.
