Eva "Georgia" Schisler

August 3, 1925 — March 20, 2014

Eva “Georgia” Schisler, 88, of Walla Walla, went to be with our Lord on March 20, 2014, at Pioneer House.

Georgia was born Aug. 3, 1925, on Weston Mountain, the youngest child of Eva Lena and Marvin Adkins. She attended schools in Weston and moved to Walla Walla following her high school graduation. She met Kenneth Schisler on a blind date, found the love of her life and married him in 1946. They celebrated their 60th anniversary just prior to Kenny’s death.

When she first moved to Walla Walla, Georgia worked for Pacific Supply, but spent most of her working career at the Eastgate branch of Baker Boyer Bank, retiring from her position of teller supervisor in 1984.

The Schislers raised three sons and enjoyed spending time boating and camping. Family was very important to Georgia and she loved helping others, whether it was neighbors, friends or family members. She crocheted, did plastic canvas work, and was an avid jigsaw puzzle solver. She was happiest working in her garden and tending her roses. Georgia was a longtime member of Walla Walla Presbyterian Church.

Georgia is survived by her sister, Marilyn “Patsy” Duffy of Walla Walla; three sons and two daughters-in- law, Bill Schisler, Dick & Kay Schisler of Walla Walla, and Jack & Nancy Schisler of Yuma, Ariz.; granddaughter, Julie Schisler of Walla Walla; grandson, Patrick Schisler; and great-grandchildren, Emmalynn and Kairon Schisler of Spokane; and a loving extended family of cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Merna and husband, Marvin Vancil.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 5, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Blue Mountain Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Albert Gillin officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Walla Walla Presbyterian Church, 325 S. First Ave.
