Eulah Irene (Munns) Davis

Eulah Irene (Munns) Davis passed away peacefully on November 7, 2025, after a seven-year journey with Alzheimer’s disease. Up until the end, Eulah maintained her grace, sweet smile, and love of family. She was born on March 28, 1936, to Mary Ninetta (Bergevin) Munns and J. Francis Munns.

Eulah’s life can be encapsulated with the words: Family, Friends, Flowers, Food, and Fun. In her 89 years here with us, she experienced an abundance of each.

Eulah spent the first 7 years of her life on the family farm just outside of Walla Walla, WA, on Harvey Shaw Road. The family then moved to town (Walla Walla, WA). She lived there until graduating from St. Patrick’s High School in 1954, where she was valedictorian of her class. Eulah then attended Washington State University, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in French and minored in Spanish in 1958. After graduation, Eulah taught school for a short time, where she met her husband, Carroll Davis. Eulah and Carroll married in 1960 and later had a son, Jesse. By this time, Eulah and family were living in Boise, Idaho. It was still the early 1960s when Eulah, Carroll, and Jesse moved to Pasco, Washington, where Paul (1962), Ninetta (1964), and Owen (1966) were born. The family moved to Pendleton, Oregon, just after the new year in 1973. Eulah taught French and Spanish in the neighboring town of Hermiston, Oregon, and Carroll worked for Woodpecker Truck and Equipment, just outside Pendleton. Eulah retired from Hermiston High School in 1995.

Following retirement, Eulah enjoyed making dried flower arrangements, playing Bridge with two Bridge clubs, traveling the globe with her husband, and spending time with her grandchildren, to name a few activities she pursued.

Eulah is survived by her sister, Mary Towner; her children: Jesse Davis and his partner Carlo Carrada-Ortiz, Portland, OR., Paul Davis and his wife Maria, Pendleton, OR, Ninetta Munns and her Husband Ron, Walla Walla, WA, and Owen Davis and his wife Patricia, Pendleton, OR; her grandchildren: Zachary Armstrong, Inkom, ID, Preston Armstrong, Pocatello ID, Emily Davis, Portland, OR, Bailey Davis, Gresham, OR, and Mackenzie Davis, Portland, OR.

Eulah was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Lee Davis; her parents, J. Francis Munns and Mary Ninetta (Bergevin) Munns; and her brother, J. Frank Munns; sisters, Nydia (Munns) Oliver, and Nadine (Munns) Gerkey.

Recitation of the rosary will be held on November 28, at 6:00 PM, at the Chapel of the Herring Funeral Home in Walla Walla, WA. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated for Eulah on November 29, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Walla Walla, WA.
