It is with great sadness that we announce the untimely passing of Ethan Alexander Arroyo of Walla Walla, WA. He was born on February 25, 2001, at Providence St. Mary Medical Center in Walla Walla and died on September 5, 2023, in the city of his birth. He was 22 years old. Ethan graduated from Walla Walla High School in 2019.
His friends and family describe him as Lovable, funny, wonderfully unique, comforting, and welcoming. He was always kind, thoughtful, wise, and the best dance partner. He had love for everyone and was very considerate of others.
A hard worker, Ethan took great care with every task that he undertook. He was deeply loved by everyone he worked for and with.
He loved gardening and would help his mom in her garden. Ethan was dedicated to making beautiful things in this world through his gardening, his cooking, and his painting. He loved getting out in nature, hiking with friends, and traveling with his cousins. He loved his dog and his favorite crocodile boots.
Ethan is survived by his mother, Alicia Gonzalez; brother, Joel Arroyo; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his beloved dog, Kira the Shiba Inu.
Public viewing and visitation will be Monday, September 11, 2023, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m., with Rosary/Vigil following from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the Chapel of the Herring Funeral Home, 315 W. Alder St., Walla Walla. Mass will be held Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., at Assumption Catholic Church, with Father Matthew Nicks celebrating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
Donations can be made to the Herring Funeral Home under Ethan’s name to support his mother to cover funeral expenses.
