Esther S. Wilson, 97, passed July 16, 2023, at Regency at the Park.
She was born August 7, 1925, to parents Virginia Grassi and Carlo DeTomasi at St. Mary's Hospital in Walla Walla. She grew up in Walla Walla and graduated from WA-Hi in 1943. She was employed with the US Army Corps of Engineers as an office worker. Esther and her late husband, Carol L Wilson, retired from the Corps of Engineers on the same date in 1986. They were married for 41 years and spent a good portion of their retirement traveling the USA, Canada, and Mexico. In her later years, she enjoyed bowling, sewing, and, most of all, gardening. Esther loved her roses and spent years making craft items to sell at the senior center gift store. Esther also enjoyed sports of all kinds and was very fond of the Seattle Mariners and knew each player's stats; she could talk sports with the best of them. Esther and Carol made weekly trips to the Wildhorse and enjoyed playing together.
Esther and Carol were both members of St. Patrick Catholic Church.
Esther was the youngest of four siblings: sisters, Mary and Lena and brother, John.
She is survived by her niece, Beverly Hermsen. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband, and son, Kirby Dewayne.
Miss Esther was an ABSOLUTE BEAUTIFUL SOUL and an amazing woman and will be greatly missed by all.
